SNOWMOBILINGGroomed trails at The Four Seasons start at your cabin door. All types of riding await you in this snowmobiler paradise. This is the last bastion of uncrowded trails in the north country. From here you can connect with the more popular areas such as Bemidji, Grand Rapids, and Hill City. You may find yourself staying here and exploring the thousands of miles of unplowed National Forest roads. There are hundreds of virgin lakes to bust out (after the first of January to be safe). This area is for the serious snowmobiler. The pit stops are few and far between. The serious rider is rewarded with mile upon mile of smooth trails and powder busting opportunities. Guide service is available for those who want to maximize their trip and eliminate "lost" time on the trails. A heated workshop is available in case of emergency wrenching is required. |
| ICE FISHING Lake Winnibigoshish or Big Winnie as it is know to most, boasts some of the countries' finest perch fishing. The size and quanity of these fish is virtually unmatched. Winnie also delivers good catches of Northern Pike both by angling and spearing. Walleyes are caught, but not with the consistency of the northerns and perch. Perch fishing on Winnie is very simple. Early in the season , the fish relate to the structure (sand bars), where later in the season they tend to roam the flats. The key is to move until you locate active fish. The method of catching perch varies greatly. Most people use some form of flasher and a minnow. If you find fish it really doesn't matter what you use! Fish houses are available to rent in the area. We carry licenses but no live bait. A heated cleaning facility is available for your use. The Four Seasons is located on the Mississippi River which is not safe for vehicle travel. There are plowed roads on the lake that you can access via other resorts. Snowmobiles and ATV's can access the lake near the resort without the aid of plowed roads. You should call ahead to get the latest ice conditions before arrival to plan accordingly. |
